A self-hosted, offline-ready information, communications, and emergency resource platform built to keep working when the Internet doesn’t.
Survival Box turns a standalone Linux computer into a portable local network. Phones, tablets, and computers connect directly to the SurvivalBox Wi-Fi network and open a central web portal—without relying on the public Internet.
The portal brings together a Kiwix offline knowledge library, locally stored offline maps, a searchable radio repeater database, message board, roster, file sharing, games, network tools, and system status. Its current map package covers the southeastern region using local map tiles rather than online mapping services.
Radio and satellite capabilities are part of the same system. Multiple RTL-SDR receivers work with OpenWebRX, SatDump, Dire Wolf, and APRS tools to monitor traffic, receive and decode satellite signals, and automatically schedule, record, and archive passes. Automation handles tuning and recording, with remote notifications and access when available.
The goal is a self-contained digital resource for emergencies, field use, experimentation, and everyday preparedness—one place for information, navigation, local communication, file exchange, radio monitoring, satellite reception, and useful tools when normal infrastructure is unavailable.
Turning a locked U.S. Samsung Galaxy S9+ into a standalone native Linux computer.
This hardware and software project focuses on replacing Android on a Snapdragon 845-based Galaxy S9+. Current work includes researching the U.S. bootloader restrictions, testing firmware downgrade and unlocking methods, and preparing a Linux boot environment for the phone.
The goal is a device that boots a Linux kernel and userspace directly on the hardware. Future work includes adapting Snapdragon 845 mainline Linux efforts, building device trees and kernels, and progressively enabling the display, touchscreen, USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, audio, GPU, and networking—ultimately a pocket-sized system with a terminal and SSH access.
A private, invite-only chat circle for a small group.
Originally a self-hosted intranet messenger on a local Debian machine, Noctovius Chat now runs on a public server so members can connect from anywhere. Invite-code accounts, a group room, direct messages, and notifications live in one web app.
Admins can manage invites, accounts, and messages. The original admin account remains protected, and muted members can still contact it. The aim is a controlled space for people who already know each other, without relying on Discord or an open social network.
